At approx. 3:20 pm today in a sleepy community bordering Murray Lake, four men concluded 18 holes of hard fought, sun tanned golf and crowned a winner. Peter Lemke took home top prize of Six Points and the title of Best Golfer in the first man challenge. Jason Jantz came in a distant second, nabbing Five Points by playing, in his estimation, "the worst golf game of (his) life." Yours truly came in a supremely close third, barely eeking out a one stroke win over DJ Darkhorse, Ant James who played the game of his life using only a 9 iron, PW and a putter. Turd Bingawoman was a no show and earned a big fat 0 and as well as Rudy who is probably drunk and sunburned (or as sunburned as a mexican can get) on a topless beach somewhere in southern Brazil.
You couldn't have asked for a better day. We tee'd off at 10:30 am and quickly stunk up the course on the first hole of the day--a 525 yard par 5 (no one shot better than a 6). But after shaking off the rust and first game jitters, we quickly fell into a groove despite only logging one par on the day. The tight competition paired with mom jokes and light hearted jabs at each other's manhoods contributed to pretty terrible golf being played, although Anthony was amazing for not having picked up a golf club for the better part of half a year. Peter had the longest putt of the day and given the fact that all four of our short games sucked more ass than gay guy auditioning for porn, his slightly better putting ended up being the difference in the game today. We had a couple chances at birdies but blew them like we were payed to throw the game. All in all, a great day of golf and competition, though somewhat marred by Jantz and Peter having to rush off to work immediately following the last hole. There may be the possibility of adding a second round of golf to the competition, maybe on a slow Tuesday or Wednesday that all challengers can attend, given the success of today.
