I don't know whether to be sad or relieved. After three months of events, SOM draws to a close. We are competing in a medley of challenges drawing from everything we've done all summer. Kicking field goals, shooting free throws, pushing cars, chugging beer. It's all going to be a part of the obtacle course. The scoring system will also be weighted slightly differently given the fact that it will be our last challenge and that it will incorporate all sorts of different events. First place will be 12 points, second place 10 and so on. Clairemont HS is the chosen battlefield and by 1 PM tomorrow we should have a pretty good feeling of who the very first Man of Summer will be. We are looking for volunteers to help out with the details (shagging balls, setting up, mocking the loser, etc.)
Afterward we are celebrating the end of the rivalry by competing in the all or nothing (six points on the table) Century Club. For those of you unfamiliar with the Club, it goes a little something like this. Every minute for one hundred minutes you drink a shot of beer. Doesn't sound too hard? It's not really the amount of beer you're drinking, but rather the consistent amount of time you're drinking. As of right now plans are to have the SOM Celebration at the official scorekeeper's pad....Sean's new spot in PB. Come and compete in the festivities or just come to watch us spiral downward into drunken debauchery. Tentative time is 6 PM tomorrow.
